This sample COPYRIGHT LICENCE FOR ONLINE REPRODUCTIONS – INSTITUTIONS should be used when a museum or other public institution holding a collection of artworks, artefacts or works of artistic craftsmanship wishes to make and publish digital images of those works for the purpose of facilitating public access to its collection.
This sample agreement includes the most common terms that the owner of the copyright and the institution will need to consider and agree. It provides for a non-exclusive royalty free licence of the copyright, rather than an assignment of copyright. Specifically, the copyright owner permits reproduction of the work only for the non-commercial purposes uses set out in the agreement.
