This sample Option Agreement and Licence to Produce should be used when a person wishes to exercise some of the exclusive rights of a copyright owner in relation to a literary work. The copyright owner can grant the other person a licence to use the copyright protected work in specific ways.
This contract template includes the most common terms which the parties need to consider and agree to. It is based on the premise that the author owns copyright in the literary work they created; it needs to be amended if this is not the case.
