This template Artwork Commission and Licence Agreement should be used when a visual artist is being commissioned to design and create an artwork for a client. The client (the Commissioner) wishes to exercise some of the exclusive rights of a copyright owner in relation to an artwork. The copyright owner can grant the client a licence to use the copyright protected work in specific ways (for example, on merchandise). There is an option for upfront payment, royalties or a combination of both.
