This template Commissioning Agreement – Private Or Commercial Visual Artwork should be used when a visual artist is being commissioned to design and create an artwork for a private client. If the artwork is intended to for a public space, for instance a sculpture or a mural for a public park or the foyer of a large office building, Arts Law’s template Commissioning Agreement – Public Visual Artwork will be more appropriate.
This template agreement includes the most common terms which the person or organisation wanting the artwork made (Commissioner) and the artist making the artwork (Artist) need to consider and agree to.
