This sample Artist/Gallery Agreement can be used when an artist wishes to enter into a long term relationship with a gallery where the Gallery acts as an agent for the exhibition, sale or promotion of the Artist?s artwork. The Artist must determine the extent to which the Gallery will act on his/her behalf.
This sample agreement allows the Artist to determine the duration of the consignment period and whether the Artist will provide Works to the Gallery on a regular basis. For every sale, the Gallery receives a set commission rate as a percentage of the sale price. This sample agreement also considers situations in which the Gallery obtains commissions for new works to be designed by the Artist, and deals with aspects of promotion and exhibition.
