Supporting Emerging Artists: Arts Law at National Art School Orientation Day

At the end of February, Arts Law was thrilled to attend the National Art School (NAS) Orientation Day, connecting with students at the very start of their artistic journeys. As students take their first steps into the world of professional art, understanding their rights and the legal aspects of their work is crucial. Events like NAS Orientation Day provide an invaluable opportunity to engage with creatives and share with them how Arts Law can help protect their work and navigate the industry with confidence.
We had the chance to meet many enthusiastic emerging artists, answer their questions, and introduce them to the resources available from Arts Law to support their creative careers. We were joined by our friends at the National Association of Visual Artists (NAVA), who share our commitment to advocating for and protecting artists’ rights.

For many artists, legal issues can seem overwhelming or inaccessible, but that’s where Arts Law comes in. From understanding copyright to navigating contracts and licensing agreements, our team is here to offer guidance and expert legal advice and to help empower creative practitioners with the knowledge they need.
We encourage all students and emerging artists to explore the resources available to them. If you’re an artist looking for legal guidance, get in touch with our team. By supporting artists through legal advice and education, we all play a part in creating a stronger, more sustainable arts industry for everyone.
